  • Job Description

 

  • We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Septimius Security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operations management within the security industry, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of operating in Mauritania.

 

  • Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement security protocols, security policies, and procedures necessary for protecting company assets and clients.
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, clients, guests, or others on company property.
  • Design and educate employees on emergency response actions.
  • Implement safety regulations and procedures to minimize the risk of workplace injury or death.
  • Assess incidents to lay down strategies that will reduce the likelihood of future occurrences.
  • Keep track of incidents to evaluate them and recommend a course of action.
  • Oversee the planning and coordination of security operations during high-risk events.
  • Analyse and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Write or review security-related documents, such as incident reports, proposals, and tactical or strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct drills to evaluate security responses.
  • Oversee the coordination of staff during emergency situations.
  • Implement safety and health policies and procedures to protect employees and clients against any risk.
  • Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
  • Accountability for all formal notifications (e.g. threats, warnings, vulnerabilities, public disturbances, critical security information, equipment failures, etc.).

 

  • Operations and Department Management

 

  • Develop and manage the operations department and secure classified and sensitive information.
  • Prepare and control budgets and reduce costs for the operations department and other company departments.
  • Provide inspired leadership for the operations department and other company departments.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Create, evaluate, and analyse proposals for new business ideas.
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices are being effectively carried out and the management structure is kept updated where necessary.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with operations department staff for performance reviews, highlighting key issues, and resolving interdepartmental issues.
  • Ensure that any changes to operations that have an immediate impact are properly instructed to the staff and documented.
  • Plan and implement comprehensive security strategies.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and advancements in security services.
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare mission configuration plans.
  • Update/create job descriptions for all Operations Department personnel when required.
  • Prepare proposal plans to develop and improve operations department metrics and performance and discuss them with company management to get approval.

 

  • Training and Supervision

 

  • Train and supervise Operations staff on appropriate security rules and procedures.
  • Manage and monitor all Operations Department staff on their daily duties, noting all mistakes that may occur during the day, then proceed to find the appropriate solution and correct them for the Operations Department personnel.
  • Responsible for directing the activities of security personnel to ensure the protection of an organization’s physical assets, properties, and resources, also for our clients.
  • Motivate and supervise Operations department employees and any project staff.
  • Evaluate the performance of the operations department staff, delivering positive and/or negative feedback, addressing any shortcomings, and reporting the related information to high management.

 

  • Tender and Contract Preparation

 

  • Assist in preparing the requirements for any tender for new contracts with the company management and operations staff.
  • Create, evaluate, and analyse proposals for new business ideas.

 

  • Additional Duties

 

  • The central point of contact between the company staff and the security actors of the clients.
  • Execute any other tasks assigned by the direct manager.
