Job Summary:
The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of all computer systems, software, and networks. The role involves providing technical support to staff, managing hardware and software installations, and troubleshooting any IT-related issues. The IT Officer will work closely with the IT Manager to implement and maintain security protocols, manage backups, and ensure the overall efficiency and security of the company’s IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1.System Administration:
Maintained and administered computer networks and related computing environments, including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
Perform regular system updates, upgrades, and maintenance tasks.
2.Technical Support:
Provide first-level support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Diagnose and resolve technical problems, escalating issues to higher-level support when necessary.
Conduct training sessions for staff to improve their understanding of IT systems and software.
3.Network Management:
Manage and monitor the company’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
Manage VPN access for remote workers.
4.Software Management:
Install, configure, and maintain software applications, ensuring they meet the company’s needs.
Monitor software licenses and ensure compliance with vendor agreements.
5.Security Management:
Implement and enforce IT security policies to protect company data and systems from unauthorized access.
Regularly update and maintain the company’s antivirus and anti-malware software.
Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.
6.Asset Management:
Maintain an inventory of IT equipment, including hardware, software, and licenses.
Oversee the procurement and disposal of IT assets, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- High diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Officer, IT Support Technician, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networks, Switches, Routers, and security.
- Proficiency in IT management software and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus.
